Erasing Years of Frustration
This particular patient was impotent from surgery and scar tissue so his case was much more difficult than your normal ED. A 59-year-old male had three back surgeries where they cut along the same scar every time. After the last surgery, he could no longer get an erection and the doctors said it was due to scar tissue and the nerves leading to the penis being damaged by the scar tissue. A pump and viagra did nothing to help.
He came in for back pain and mentioned the erectile difficulties almost jokingly, not thinking acupuncture could really do anything. We discussed the different treatment options and he was willing to try so we did the treatment along with some moxibustion. After the second treatment, he came in to tell me that that morning he had awoken at 4am with an erection. He cried he was so happy. This was the first time he had had an erection in 18 years!

39-year-old patient with damage to the urethra due to kidney stones and botched surgery. The chief complaint is that sometimes he could get an erection and sometimes he couldn’t but he never knew when or if it was going to work. The first treatment seemed to help. The second treatment also felt some energy moving. He came back in and said he had had zero problems over the weekend!
